Why I do what I do

Hey Abby!Just wanted to stop by and say Club was really good tonight...I know I'm not really in to YL as much as I could be, and I hope me saying this doesn't sound completely dumb but I just wanted to let you know that (esp tonight) helped me so much. Its amazing how that video and your talk hit so close to alot of stuff going on right now. You guys are the best and I look forward to coming every week. Thank you soooo much! and thanks for praying for matt tonight, I know him and his family really appreciate it...See you next club!

This is a facebook message i got a from a kid a couple weeks ago after club....it was just such a reminder of why i do what i do day in and day out! this is from a kid who has been a consistent club kid but i wasn't sure if she was getting anything out of it...this was a true answer to prayer that a seed is being planted in her heart!

i love my job because of kids who are searching and seeking to find an answer to what is going on in their lives...i continue to seek God's guidance for what kids are longing to hear from me as their leader...and also just that God continue to break walls in the hearts of kids in His timing!

i am excited to see what is going to happen at camp this summer when i look on my list and most of the kids are new to club this year and have never been to camp...my prayer is that many hearts be opened to the love of Jesus!

please pray with me for these kids!

Long Time No See

This past weekend was awesome....i got to see my friend/mentor/former teacher & coach Jana!!! she brings her youth group down to ocean city for the weekend and picks me up on her way through dover....and then we get to hang out for a weekend...it is always fun to see jana and to catch up....oh how i wish she lived closer...

jana and i go back to days at CHS...jana was a coach and my PE (for you jana) teacher...she was also the person who challenged to me grab onto what is means to truly love Jesus and love other people like he loved me....jana constantly challenged me and still challenges me to grow in my faith and i am forever grateful to God for placing Jana in my life...

i feel like there are a lot of people who have played pretty significant roles in my life who i have lost touch with or haven't seen in ages....people like sabrina, erin, beth, megs, ashley, and sarah to name a few...(if i forgot you i didn't mean to i was just giving for instances)...these people have all played a role in my life that has changed me and helped to mold me into who i am today...

this has made me think about my job with Young Life and how hopefully i will be a person in a kids like who made a difference and played a significant role in their life...i pray that God will use me in the lives of kids like he used people like Jana in my own life...

i encourage you to pray for God to place a person in your life who you will be able to mold and make a difference in...trust me it will be a blessing to both of you!!!
